Program Overview
Everything you need to know about Visitor Visa & Super Visa Canada
A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), commonly known as a visitor visa, allows foreign nationals from visa-required countries to enter Canada for tourism, family visits, or business purposes. A standard visitor visa allows stays of up to 6 months.
The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa specifically designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It allows extended stays of up to 5 years at a time and is valid for up to 10 years, making it an excellent option while waiting for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). Super Visa income requirements (LICO+30%) for the host in Canada are: $38,002 CAD (family of 2), $46,720 CAD (family of 3), and $56,724 CAD (family of 4).
IMPORTANT UPDATE effective March 31, 2026: The Super Visa income assessment period is changing from 1 year to 2 years. Additionally, the visiting parent or grandparent can now supplement the host's income to meet the financial threshold. Contact us to understand how these changes affect your Super Visa application.
Our team has extensive experience helping clients who have been previously refused, addressing the officer's concerns, and building a stronger application for resubmission. We help you demonstrate strong ties to your home country and genuine purpose of visit.

A Super Visa is specifically for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents and allows stays of up to 5 years at a time. The Super Visa requires proof of private health insurance and a financial guarantee from the inviting child or grandchild meeting LICO+30% thresholds (e.g., $38,002 CAD for a family of 2). Effective March 31, 2026, the income assessment period changes from 1 year to 2 years, and the visiting parent/grandparent can now supplement the host's income to meet the threshold.
Yes. There is no limit to how many times you can reapply for a visitor visa. However, each new application should address the reasons for the previous refusal. We help you understand the refusal reasons through GCMS notes and build a stronger application for resubmission.
Processing times vary depending on the visa office handling your application and can range from a few weeks to several months. Applications submitted from some countries may be processed faster than others. We help you submit a complete application to avoid unnecessary delays.
Citizens of visa-exempt countries need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead of a visitor visa when flying to Canada. Citizens of visa-required countries need a visitor visa (TRV). Your nationality determines which document you need.
